Session Description:

Join us for an insightful session with Louie Palu, a Canadian-American documentary photographer and filmmaker with over 30 years of experience covering social and political issues. From wars and human rights violations to environmental crises, Louie shares his unique perspective through powerful imagery. Using straightforward tools and an unpretentious approach, he captures moments that tell compelling stories.

In this talk, we will explore his long-term projects including “The Season of War” in Afghanistan, “The Drug War” on the US-Mexico border, and “The Last Ice” in the Arctic. This session offers a deep dive into the responsibilities of documentary photographers facing global crises and the power of images to shape our understanding of the world.
